What is Authorised Distributor?

Stock In The Channel is the world’s leading business automation tool for IT resellers to find, price, buy and sell IT products, with over 50,000 registered users, 300 distributors and 7 million products listed on our site globally. Our UK site has over 170 distributors and is used by thousands of sales and purchasing staff daily to quickly locate inventory held in distribution.

A new and effective way to support your Distributors

Vendors and Brand Owners now have a new and free way to support their official distribution partners by tagging their distributors. This empowers resellers to identify suppliers that are “Authorised” to sell your products.

Priority Search Listing

Distributors that are Authorised by the brand will be listed above others within our Search Results and on Product Details pages. An icon will be displayed next to the Distributors Name identifying their Authorised status.

Management Role

Stock in the Channel has created a new User Role of “Brand Manager”.

Users with this Permissions gain access to a new interface that allows them to view all the Distributors that are listing products from their brand.

It’s then a simple matter of selecting your Distributors and tagging them as “Authorised”.

Brand Managers can also upload a replacement logo for their brand if they wish and will retain access to manage both addition and removal of your Authorised distributors should you need to in the future.

How to become the Brand Manager for your Brand on SITC (2-mins)

This is a very simple and fast process.

Step 1. If you don’t already have a login to SITC please register a free account here. Be sure to register with your official company email address and make sure to include your name, job role and contact number. Activate your account and create a Password once you receive the activation email.

Step 2. Complete the short form at the bottom of this page to express your interest in becoming the brand Manager.

The SITC team will receive your request to become the brand manager and will link your user registration to the brand(s) you requested to manage.
Once the new permission is assigned and your Brand Management dashboard is ready, we will send a short email to let you know.

Authorising your Distributors (2-5 mins)

Step 3. Tagging your Distributors as Authorised is very simple. Once we tell you that your Brand Management Dashboard is ready;

  • Simply sign in to your SITC account
  • Click the “Manage official distributors” link and click “Add Distributor”.
  • Select the Distributors you want to authorise from the drop-down list, decide if they are Authorised for All Products or only certain product categories and press “Save”.
  • Repeat this process to tag additional Distributors as Authorised.

Only distributors listing products from your brand will be in the list, so you don’t need to scroll through all 170+ names to find those you wish to authorise.

  • Utilising our reporting functionality within the platform
